Stranraer have moved to secure the services of manager Stephen Aitken and his assistant Stevie Farrell on a new two year deal to warn off clubs that have picked up on the fine job the duo have done at Stair Park.
Aitken has impressed since he stepped up from his assistant manager role to Keith Knox to the manager’s position in October 2012 as he firstly saved the Blues from relegation and then took them to third place in the table and the play-offs last season.
The paperwork for Aitken and Farrell’s new deals were signed on Saturday and the Stranraer boss said; “I was delighted when the club spoke to me a couple of weeks about signing a longer contract. It is flattering to be linked with other jobs but I have always concentrated on doing my best for Stranraer.”
“We have had two good seasons and hopefully we can build on that this season and beyond.”
