Stranraer will host continental opposition on Saturday for the first time in more than half a century when they face Dutch side FC Twente.

Austrian outfit GAK Graz visited in the 1950s and the Blues are now preparing to take on the team who finished seventh in Holland in 2016/17 but were champions as recently as 2009/10.

The match is part of the 'Stranraer 400' celebrations to mark the town's anniversary of becoming a royal burgh and a big travelling support is expected at Stair Park.

Stevie Farrell's side are looking forward to another season in Ladbrokes League 1 and next weekend begin their Betfred Cup campaign with a home tie against Stranraer.

It's been a busy summer for the Stranraer boss, who has signed Ryan Wallace (Albion Rovers), Tom Lang (Dumbarton), Paul Woods (East Kilbride), Morgyn Neill (Livingston), Jamie Hamill (Queen of the South), Grant Anderson (Peterhead), Danny Stoney (Neilston Juniors) and Stephen Okoh (Lewes FC).
