Tom Rogic broke the deadlock after 28 minutes and Kris Commons sealed the victory for Ronny Deila's men just after the hour mark.
Aberdeen are in second spot following their 2-0 win against Kilmarnock at Pittodrie in the day's later game. Graeme Shinnie gave Derek McInnes's team the lead late in the first half and Adam Rooney's 56th-minute penalty made sure for the Dons.
