Turner could return for Sons

Dumbarton midfielder could make Pittodrie trip

Dumbarton’s star midfielder Chris Turner is hoping to win his fitness fight and take his place in the Sons’ engine room against Aberdeen at Pittodrie tomorrow.

The former Shamrock Rovers and Northern Ireland under-21 player was injured an ankle after just 7 minutes of a game against Livingston at the beginning of February however he could be thrown back into action against the Dons.

Manager Ian Murray said: “We thought we would have Chris available for Queen of the South last week but he never quite made it. He has had another week’s worth of treatment and has a good chance of facing Aberdeen.”

“Chris has played in European games and at a decent international level so it would be good to have him in our ranks at Pittodrie.”
