Dundee United boss Ray McKinnon has made Dutch forward Nick van der Velden his seventh signing of the summer.
The 34-year-old has previously played for Willem II, AZ Alkmaar and Groningen and made his debut in Tuesday's 6-1 win over Cowdenbeath in the Betfred Cup.
McKinnon told the Dundee United website: "He can play either as the main striker or as one of the three behind - he will be excellent for us.”
