Dundee United roared back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Dundee in a thrilling derby match at Tannadice on Sunday.

A Kane Hemmings double towards the end of the first half had Paul Hartley's men in control but Billy McKay pulled one back from the penalty spot early in the second period after keeper Scott Bain had been sent off for conceding the kick.

United piled on the pressure and were rewarded when McKay scored with a close-range header in the first minute of added time as a terrific match ended all square.

The result means Mixu Paatelainen's men are now seven points behind second-bottom Kilmarnock, having played a match less, while the Dark Blues are three points outside the top six, also with a game in hand, as the split approaches in the Ladbrokes Premiership.
