Victories for Falkirk and Dumbarton

Falkirk moved up to third in the Ladbrokes Championship thanks to a 3-1 home win over St Mirren on Saturday.

Lewis Morgan gave Saints the lead but the bottom club had Jack Baird sent off before the break and the Bairns took advantage with goals from Lee Miller, Bob McHugh and Myles Hippolyte.

Dumbarton are out of the bottom two after beating Queen of the South 2-1 at Palmerston with goals from Ryan Stevenson and Garry Fleming (penalty). Derek Lyle pulled one back.

Dunfermline Athletic and Ayr United drew 1-1 at East End Park. Nicky Clark opened the scoring but Alan Forrest equalised from the spot after Lewis Martin was sent off. Ayr keeper Greg Fleming saved two penalties in two minutes from Kallum Higginbotham late on.
