Mark Warburton was thrilled to guide Rangers to their second piece of silverware in the space of a week.

The Ibrox side beat Peterhead 4-0 in the Petrofac Training Cup Final at Hampden on Sunday, having clinched the Ladbrokes Championship title on Tuesday.

Warburton said: “I’m delighted for the fans. To have that level of support was just magnificent. They've had some tough times but they were able to enjoy the occasion and so did the players.

"We said right at the start this was a tournament we wanted to win and we have, so all credit to them. We’ve been fit all season and finished games strongly so that’s credit to the players’ hard work and the staff that work with them.”

Peterhead boss Jim McInally said: "I'm disappointed because we are better than we showed. We had a spell just before half-time which was more like us and we did OK in the second half but I exposed us a bit in the last 15 minutes when we went three up front. We need to move on now for the remaining games of the season and the play-offs.”
