Jason Marr's 28th-minute goal proved decisive as the Wasps reached the last eight of the competition for the first time since 1965/66 and it was one of three ties that saw Premiership sides knocked out by lower-ranked opponents.
 
Cammy Smith hit a first-half hat-trick, one a penalty, as Dundee United defeated Partick Thistle 3-1 at Tannadice. Sean Welsh pulled one back from the spot after the interval.
 
Morton hit back to beat Hamilton Accies 2-1 at the SuperSeal Stadium with goals from Ross Forbes and Jai Quitongo after Dougie Imrie had converted an early penalty for Accies.
 
Rangers cruised into the last eight with a 5-0 win over Peterhead at Ibrox thanks to a Clint Hill double, goals from Niko Kranjcar and Joe Dodoo and a Fiacre Kelleher own goal. The Blue Toon had Nathan Blockley sent off early in the second half.
 
Queen of the South came from behind to defeat Hibernian 3-1 at Easter Road thanks to second-half goals from Stephen Dobbie, Grant Anderson and Lyndon Dykes. Paul Hanlon had given Hibs the lead midway through the first half.
 
There are three more ties on Wednesday, with the quarter-final draw live on BT Sport following their coverage of Celtic v Motherwell, kick-off 7.45pm.
