@splstats looks at some of the numbers behind the weekend’s matches:
4 Partick Thistle's 4-0 victory over Inverness Caledonian Thistle represented their biggest top-flight away win in 37 years. In September 1977, goals from Ally Love (2), Jim Melrose and Doug Somner handed Thistle a 4-0 victory over Clydebank at Kilbowie. Alan Archibald's side have now scored seven goals in two matches against the Caley Jags this season, while the other 10 clubs have only managed 10 in 14 games. Ryan Stevenson continued his habit of scoring in batches – he has found the net in just five matches in 2014, but those games have yielded 11 goals, courtesy of four doubles and a hat-trick.
50 Celtic captain Scott Brown netted the 50th goal of his club career by opening the scoring in his side's 4-1 victory over St Mirren at Parkhead. Brown would go on to take his tally to 51 later in the game – he has now scored 31 times for Celtic to add to his 20 goals for Hibs. The Scotland skipper has scored seven times against St Mirren, more than against any other side. The Bhoys have now recorded 10 consecutive victories against Saints at Celtic Park, and have not lost at home to the Paisley club for 23 matches, a run which extends back to 1990.
15 Hibernian's 2-0 victory over Alloa Athletic on Saturday maintained their unbeaten record against the Wasps at Easter Road. The sides have now met 15 times in Edinburgh, and Hibs have picked up 13 wins, with the other two matches drawn. Saturday's game was just the fourth league meeting of the sides at Easter Road, and the first since 1933. Hibs have won all four of those fixtures.
9 Forfar Athletic's 2-1 victory over Stirling Albion kept them top of League 1, and continued their best start to a season in the third tier since their title-winning season of 1983/84. Dick Campbell's side have eight wins and a draw in their last nine league matches at Station Park, which represents their best unbeaten run since March-September 2010. Forfar's opening goal was scored by 39 year-old defender Darren Dods – two of Stirling Albion's starting XI (Angus Beith and Lee Hamilton) weren't even born when Dods made his senior debut for Hibernian in May 1995.
6 Queen's Park's 2-1 victory over Montrose on Saturday was their ninth win in their last 10 league matches, and their sixth consecutive away win in all competitions. This represents just the second time in the last 45 years that the Spiders have managed to record six straight victories on the road – the other came from January-March 2011. Gus MacPherson's side have 34 points from 16 matches, which equals their best ever tally at this stage of the season – they also had 34 from 16 games in 1999/00 and went on to win the SFL3 title. Overall, including the two points for a win era, this is the Spiders' joint second best ever start to a league season – the only campaign in which they performed better was 1955/56, when they became second tier champions after starting with 11 wins, four draws and just one defeat from their opening 16 games.
