75 Hamilton Accies' 1-0 victory over Celtic on Sunday was their first win at Parkhead in 75 years and ended a run of 22 consecutive victories for Celtic in the fixture. Accies' last success away to the Glasgow side was a 4-3 victory in October 1939 in the opening match of the Western section of the Emergency War League, a tournament started after the Scottish League shut down due to World War II. They also won at Celtic Park in 1938 but hadn't beaten Celtic home or away since a 2-0 win at Douglas Park in April 1989. Alex Neil's side are now eight matches unbeaten in the SPFL, equalling their longest run without a defeat in the top flight. The three points put Hamilton top of the league, the first time they have led the top division this far into a season.
4 Kilmarnock's win over Dundee United on Friday night was their fourth consecutive home win in the league. This represents the Ayrshire side's best run of league victories at Rugby Park since January-March 2006, when they managed five consecutive home wins. The victory took Killie to 17 points from their first nine matches of the season - their best start to a top flight season in 49 years. The last season in which they made a better start was 1965/66, when Killie were defending champions and picked up six wins, a draw and two defeats from their first nine matches. Their win also ended Dundee United's run of five consecutive victories in this fixture, and represents just a second win in their last 19 matches against the Terrors.
40 Sunday's 1-1 draw between Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Ross County was the 40th league meeting of the two sides, and was the 11th draw. Inverness continue to have the upper hand in the fixture, with 18 wins to County's 11. The Caley Jags extended their unbeaten home run to eight matches, which is their best ever run in the top flight. County picked up their first away point of the season, which means they avoided suffering five consecutive away league defeats for the first time since 2003. Marley Watkins scored for the third league match in a row, making him the first player to do that for Inverness since Billy McKay scored in the first three games of last season.
25 Heart of Midlothian's 3-0 win over Queen of the South on Saturday took their tally to 25 goals from their opening eight league matches - their most prolific start in over 50 years. The Jambos have not scored more goals in their opening eight matches since the 1962/63 season, when they found the net 26 times in their first eight games. In fact, this season's total is more than the number they scored in the first eight games in each of the last three seasons put together (nine in 2011/12, nine in 2012/13 and six in 2013/14). Robbie Neilson's side have picked up 22 points from their opening eight games, which represents their second best start to a season since WWII – the only better start was in 2005/06 when George Burley's side won their first eight matches.
11 Falkirk's 2-1 win over Alloa Athletic on Saturday extended their unbeaten home league run against the Wasps to 11 matches. The Bairns have picked up seven wins and four draws in those meetings against the Clackmannanshire side. Alloa have only ever recorded one away win in 21 league matches against the Bairns - that came at Brockville in September 1982, when Scott Murray scored the only goal of the game.
