Weekend in numbers

After another action packed couple of days, @splstats summarises key facts and figures from the SPFL.

@splstats summarises the key facts and figures from the weekend's SPFL action:

23 – Hamilton's 3-0 win over Aberdeen on Friday night took them to 23 points from their opening 10 league matches.  This represents the best ever start from a newly promoted top flight side since automatic promotion was introduced in 1921/22.  Alex Neil's have now gone 525 minutes without conceding a goal since Jaroslaw Fojut's equaliser in their 2-2 draw against Dundee Utd in September – their five consecutive clean sheets has equalled a club record.  In their last three league matches, Accies have beaten each of last season's top three with an aggregate scoreline of 8-0.  Amazingly, the Lanarkshire side currently have all three of the Premiership's joint top goalscorers, with Ali Crawford, Tony Andreu and Mickael Antoine-Curier having all found the net five times.

3 – Kilmarnock's 2-1 victory over St Johnstone meant that the Rugby Park side have recorded three consecutive league wins for the first time since the autumn of 2010.  Allan Johnston's side also ended a run of 12 matches without a win against Saints – their last victory against the Perth club came during that previous three game winning streak in 2010.  Killie's hero was Northern Irish striker Josh Magennis, who scored more goals in four first half minutes on Saturday than he had managed in his previous 47 appearances in the Scottish top flight.  The Ayrshire side have made their best start to a top flight season in exactly half a century – on that occasion they went on to win their one and only league title.

28 – Hearts' 5-1 home victory over Dumbarton ensured that Robbie Neilson has taken 28 points from his opening 10 league matches in charge of the Jambos, which is the best ever start to any Hearts manager's career.  The previous best tally was set by George Burley, who managed 26 points from his 10 games in the 2005/06 season before he left the club.

0 – Dunfermline Athletic kept their fifth home clean sheet in five League 1 fixtures at East End Park as they drew 0-0 with Forfar Athletic on Saturday.  The last time the Pars managed five clean sheets in a row at home was 1994, and they are now just one shutout short of equalling a club record of six.  Jim Jefferies side are now the only side in the SPFL who have yet to concede a home goal.  The only other team in a UK national league who have not conceded at home are Northern Irish third tier side Tobermore Utd, who have had the substantial advantage of not actually playing any games at home so far this season.

7 – Arbroath's 4-0 win over East Stirlingshire at Gayfield was their seventh win in eight league matches this season, giving them their best ever start to a league season.  Allan Moore's side are now just two wins short of their entire tally of victories in last season's relegation campaign.  Saturday's match was the fourth consecutive meeting of the sides to feature four or more goals – the two teams have shared 23 goals in those matches.
