@splstats looks at some of the numbers behind the weekend games:
21 Inverness Caledonian Thistle sealed third place in the Premiership and a spot in next season's Europa League with a 1-0 win over Dundee at Dens Park. The Caley Jags will be the 21st different club to represent Scotland in European competition, and the first debutants since Falkirk in 2009/10. It has been a record-breaking year for John Hughes and his players – they have led the Highland club to their highest league finish in their 21-year history and, with two games to spare, they have already achieved their highest-ever top-flight points tally. With a Scottish Cup Final still to come, it could get even better.
4 Scott Brown scored the only goal of the game as Celtic celebrated their league title success by beating Aberdeen 1-0 at Pittodrie. The Bhoys' record in the head-to-head matches against Aberdeen played a huge part in their title win – the sides have very similar records against the other 10 clubs, but Celtic picked up four wins out of four against their nearest challengers. This is the first time in 11 seasons that the champions have managed a 100% record against the second-placed side, with the last time coming in 2003/04 when Martin O'Neill's Celtic team defeated Rangers in all four Old Firm matches (and also beat them in the Scottish Cup).
2 Two Rangers players ended lengthy goal droughts to help their side to a crucial 2-1 victory over Queen of the South in the Premiership play-off quarter-final first leg at Palmerston on Saturday. Dean Shiels had previously gone four months without finding the net – his last goal was a late strike in a 3-1 win over Dumbarton back in January. Stevie Smith had waited even longer for a goal – the wing-back had not netted in 385 days since scoring the opener in a 4-0 win away to Stenhousemuir in April 2014.
3 Alloa Athletic defeated Brechin City 2-1 on aggregate to seal their place in the Championship play-off final. The Wasps will be competing in a play-off final for a third time, and they won each of the other two. In 2005/06, they defeated Berwick Rangers to remain in Division 2, then in 2012/13 they earned their promotion to the Championship by beating Dunfermline Athletic in the final. Opponents Forfar Athletic also have a 100% record in play-off finals – their only previous appearance saw them beat Arbroath to gain promotion to Division 2 in 2009/10.
8 Queen's Park squeezed past Arbroath after extra time to reach their first play-off final in eight years and set up an intriguing clash with Stenhousemuir. The Spiders lost five consecutive play-off semi-finals between 2008/09 and 2012/13, having previously gained promotion via the play-offs back in 2006/07. Gus McPherson's side were unbeaten in their six matches against Arbroath this season, winning three and drawing three. Opponents Stenhousemuir are also appearing in their second play-off final – they gained promotion back in 2008/09.
