Motherwell boss Mark McGhee has signed winger Elliott Frear from Forest Green Rovers on a deal until the summer of 2019.

Motherwell boss Mark McGhee has signed winger Elliott Frear from Forest Green Rovers on a deal until the summer of 2019.

The 26-year-old former Exeter City and Salisbury City player put pen to paper ahead of Saturday's home game with Rangers, live on Sky Sports at 12.30pm.

Frear told the Motherwell website: "I know a few of the boys here from playing in the National League so I'm really looking forward to get going. I'm just an out-and-out winger - I play on the left side and I like to get at people and cross it - that's my game."

Meanwhile, Well have also snapped up goalkeeper Russell Griffiths on loan from Everton for the rest of the season, with Dean Brill leaving the club. Griffiths, 20, spent the first half of this season on loan at Cheltenham Town.
