Motherwell have moved a step closer to appointing a new manager following the resignation of Stuart McCall last month.
Kenny Black, who was assistant to the former Scotland midfielder, remains in caretaker charge as the Fir Park club prepare to face Celtic on Saturday.
A club statement read: "We continue to work to secure new investment and, in the meantime, the Board has re-commenced the process of seeking a new first-team manager.
“The Board has narrowed the extensive candidates list down into something more manageable and will now seek to interview relevant applicants, with a view to making an appointment as swiftly as possible.”
