Rangers booked their place in Thursday afternoon's League Cup third-round draw with a 5-0 win over Airdrieonians at the Excelsior Stadium.
Mark Warburton's men made a fast start against their Ladbrokes League 1 opponents, with goals in the first 15 minutes from Nicky Clark, Andy Halliday and Martyn Waghorn. Dean Shiels and James Tavernier scored in the closing stages to take the tally to five.
In Wednesday night’s other tie, Hibernian overcame Stranraer 1-0 at Easter Road, where a Scott Rumsby own goal early in the second half settled the issue.
The third-round draw takes place at Hampden Park on Thursday at 2.30pm, with ties due to be played on September 22/23.
