Queen of the South’s experienced midfielder Derek Young has returned to training after two months out following toe surgery with manager Jim McIntyre pencilling in a February comeback for the 33 year old.
Young is in the eighteenth season of senior football after beginning at Aberdeen in 1996 and then playing at Dunfermline Athletic, St. Johnstone, Partick Thistle, the Dons again, Icelandic side Grindavík and Morton before joining the Dumfries side in the summer of 2012.
McIntyre said: “Derek is back running which is great to see. We will build things up from there and hopefully in about 4 weeks he will be ready for a return to first team action.”
