Striker impresses on Spiders debut

On-loan Hamilton Accies striker Eamonn Brophy only lasted 42 minutes of his Queen’s Park debut on Saturday however he did more than enough to show Spiders boss Gus McPherson that he will be a real goal threat between now and the end of the season.

Brophy was brought on after 29 minutes as Queen’s went down 3-1 to Clyde at the weekend and he scored before being replaced with 19 minutes left after being ill on the park.

McPherson said: “Eamonn is raw but he is a raw talent. He showed why he has been in the Hamilton first team and why they rate him so highly. We have him between now and the end of the season and he will add something to our attack as he is a real presence in the opponents’ box.”

“I really have to thank Hamilton for allowing us to have Eamonn on loan. He had a bit of illness before the game and he had to come off but he will be back this weekend.”
