Cowdenbeath have named Billy Brown as their new manager after Gary Locke left Central Park to take up an ambassadorial role with Hearts.

Brown had been No 2 at the Ladbrokes League 2 club and the vastly experienced 66-year-old former East Fife boss now steps up.

Chairman Donald Findlay told the Cowdenbeath website: "I will always be grateful for what Gary and Billy Brown did for the club at the end of the season and I have every confidence that Billy will carry on the good work. He is a vastly experienced coach and one of the game’s gentlemen."
