The format and participating clubs for the main Development League are unchanged, with 17 teams playing each other on a home-and-away basis for a total of 32 matches each.

Champions Celtic begin their campaign away to Kilmarnock on Tuesday August 23 while Aberdeen, who lifted the trophy the previous year, kick off at home to Dundee.

There are eight clubs in the Development League West and they will play three times for a total of 21 matches each - reigning champions Morton start away to Stranraer w/c Monday September 5.

The Development League East for 2016/17 is made up of seven clubs playing three times for a total of 18 matches each. Stirling Albion begin the defence of their trophy at home to Cowdenbeath w/c Monday September 5.
