Dumbarton have named Ian Durrant as their new assistant manager following the recent departure of Stevie Farrell to take over at Stranraer.

The 50-year-old former Scotland midfielder, who spent several years as a coach with Rangers, links up with Stevie Aitken's squad ahead of Saturday's trip to Raith Rovers.

Aitken told the club website: "I'm pleased to welcome Ian and look forward to working with him. It was important we added to the backroom staff quickly following Faz's departure. Ian brings a wealth of experience, which will be of huge importance as the season progresses."
