Gilhaney earns praise for climbing out of sick bed

Sons’ winger stars and scores despite 2 day illness

Dumbarton's Mark Gilhaney celebrates his goal against StenhousemuirDumbarton winger Mark Gilhaney came in for special praise for his role in the Sons 3-0 win over Stenhousemuir on Tuesday night as he lifted himself out of his sick bed to feature.

Gilhaney netted his side’s second goal in the success with manager Alan Adamson saying, “I have to praise Mark for the effort he made in playing in the game. He had been in his bed for the last 2 days and got up to play despite only eating a slice of toast during that time.”

“It was great that his endeavour was rewarded with a goal.”
