IRN-BRU have today announced they will add more value to the current sponsorship of The Scottish Football League (SFL) by providing new IRN-BRU match Balls for all thirty clubs throughout the length and breadth of the country.
IRN-BRU's deal with the SFL is a significant investment, reinforcing the soft drinks ongoing commitment to the League and its 30 member clubs.
The deal is believed to be a first for Scottish football, with the League and match Balls being sponsored by the same company. Following on from IRN-BRU's £70,000 investment in Youth Football in July, this is a further demonstration of the brand looking to benefit clubs across all the divisions.
Martin Steele, Senior Brand Manager for IRN-BRU, commented;
"As proud sponsors of The Scottish Football League we are committed to helping the League as much as possible and we are delighted to add to our involvement. We have spent weeks with the League and design and manufacturing companies to ensure the new balls are created to the highest possible standard. We are pleased our efforts have paid off and are now able to assist the League with match balls for the duration of the season. I hope to see plenty of them hit the back of the net over the coming months!"
David Longmuir, Cheif Executive of The Scottish Football League added;
"The current economic climate has thrown up a few hurdles for the football industry and we are delighted that IRN-BRU has been able to work with us to provide match balls for the season.
As you will see the Balls with It's iconic colour-ways and logo will be a striking visual part of our game. This is a prestigious development for the SFL and it is not often that a League sponsor's name can appear on an officially approved FIFA match Ball. This is unique to the SFL and IRN-BRU and we are delighted to have secured this."
The balls have been carefully designed during the past few months & have been created to the highest standard. They carry the unique orange and blue design matching IRN-BRU's iconic branding as well as the FIFA approved stamp showing they have passed FIFA's Quality Control System.
The new IRN-BRU match Balls will be used for the first time at all IRN-BRU SFL matches this Saturday (31 October 2009).
