St. Mirren kid Ross Meechan, who has spent 11 years at SPL clubs despite being only 17-year-old, is looking to keep his run going after being told he is being released by the Paisley side.

Right full back Meechan, who has been a Saint for one season started off at Hearts when he was just 6 years old and spent 7 years there before moving Motherwell in 2008.

Meechan said, "Football has obviously been a huge part of my life and it is disappointing after playing a lot of reserve football last season that I am being released."

"Hopefully having been involved in the game for so long despite being 17 will help me find a new club."
