Season over for Morton's O'Brien

Hamstring injury cuts short O'Brien's season

A fairly miserable season looks to be over for Morton midfielder David O’Brien due to the hamstring injury that has already ruled him out for the last 5 weeks. The former Stirling Albion player was not even able to fully enjoy the relegated Greenock side’s high-spot this season of knocking Celtic out of the Scottish League Cup at Parkhead as he suffered a shoulder injury that ruled him out for almost 6 months.

After just two appearances for manager Kenny Shiels, O’Brien picked up a fresh knock and he is unlikely to feature again in this campaign with Shiels saying: “It is a shame for David as he wanted to put in a strong end to the season and it does not look like it will happen now.”
