What’s the best goal you have ever scored?
The one against Forfar last week is joint equal with one I scored for East Fife, ironically against Brechin. Saturday’s goal was a first-time volley (see video below) from a headed clearance and I hit it just outside the box. I knew as soon as I had connected that it was a decent hit and it was terrific to see it go in. The one for East Fife was slightly different as I cut in from the left wing and past a couple of players before cracking in a shot as I broke into the box. The ball flew into the opposite far corner and that had been my favourite one right up until Saturday.

What’s the best game you have played in?
It was for Livingston against Falkirk when we actually lost 4-3 back in November 2011. It was an exciting end-to-end game, where both teams just attacked, but we were three goals down at half-time. I scored to make it 3-1 and that helped to spark a fightback and we got it back to 3-3 before going down to a late goal. It was a terrific game even though we lost. I also played twice for Brechin at Ibrox against Rangers and those games were special. We were there on the first game of last season and gave a really good account of ourselves before going down 4-1, with Steven Jackson scoring a terrific overhead kick. We also did well in the second game before losing 2-1.

What is your favourite away ground?
Ibrox – I played 90 minutes there twice for Brechin last season and that was something I had always wanted to do. It was great for my dad to see me as he had also played there when he was a player.

What is your favourite other sport?
I play golf and snooker occasionally but a sport I like watching a lot is cricket, although I have never played it.

Which player would you most like to have in your team?
It would be terrific to have Lionel Messi. He would be unbelievable to play alongside. Cristiano Ronaldo is a favourite for a lot of people but it is Messi every time for me.

What is your favourite pre-match meal?
Chicken and pasta.

What is your favourite music?
Dance music from the 1990s is my favourite. Big Gerry McLauchlan brings his iPod for the tunes at Brechin and to be fair he puts on a decent variety. He likes to think he is bringing some culture to Glebe Park but I am not so sure!

Who is the biggest moaner you have played with?
Iain Russell, who I played with at Livingston. Whenever something went against Iain you knew about it and to be honest he was worse than me!

Who is the most skilful team-mate you have had?
Ability-wise, an Italian striker at Livingston called Raffaele De Vita, who is now playing down in England. He was a really good footballer technically, who could also score goals. I also enjoyed playing with Joe Hamill when I was at Livingston as he had a terrific first touch. He was a really good all-round footballer who had played at a high level with Hearts and Leicester City.

Who is your worst dressed team-mate?
Robert Thomson at Brechin City is the worst I have known. I was out with him on Saturday night and for a boy of 21 he should dress better! He thinks he is a handsome big chap as well but he should stop dressing like a student to make the most of it.

Who is the best trainer you have played with?
When I was with St Johnstone I was always impressed with Paul Sheerin. He always worked hard at his game - when I was allowed to train with the first team I was always impressed with the ability he had in his left foot. I played against him when he was at Arbroath and he could hurt you with his passing, crossing and movement.

And the best dancer at the clubs you have played for?
Jason Talbot, who is the captain of Livingston. That lad can pull some great shapes!
