Stranraer skipper Frank McKeown will look to help the Blues win at Brechin on Saturday while keeping his fingers crossed that Morton and Forfar slip up.

Stranraer skipper Frank McKeown will look to help the Blues win at Brechin on Saturday while keeping his fingers crossed that Morton and Forfar slip up.

The former Arthurlie Juniors defender took time out ahead of the deciding weekend in League 1 to answer the SPFL Spotlight questions.

What is the best goal you have scored?
My best ever goal was when I was 12 and playing for Craigton Primary School. I netted an overhead kick and I have never matched that in my days in the Juniors or at Stranraer! The best one I have scored at senior level was during our first game of this season when we defeated Dumbarton in the Petrofac Training Cup. I broke forward from midfield and played a one-two with Jamie Longworth before hitting a low shot into the net from the edge of the box.

What is the best game you have played in?
I was hoping that was going to be last Saturday against Morton but it never worked out that way. I will go for the 1-1 draw with Rangers at Ibrox on Boxing Day 2013. They had won their first 15 games in a row but Jamie Longworth scored an equaliser in injury time and, to be honest, we deserved the point as we had played well. That game has been the highlight of my career so far as I had grown up as a Rangers fan and had always dreamed of playing there.

What is your favourite away ground?
Ibrox just edges it for me from Easter Road where we played a terrific game before going down 5-3 in a League Cup tie and, of course, Hampden, which is always a thrill to play at.

What is your favourite other sport?
I am big into my golf and try and play as much as I can. There are a few boys at Stranraer who are keen on golf as well, including the boss Stephen Aitken.

Which player in the world would you bring to Stranraer?
It has to be Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi. I will plump for Messi as he creates so much space for his side and also you can just give him the ball for the entire game and your opponents cannot score if you have the ball.

What is your favourite pre-match meal?
We are taken for a pre-match meal before every home game and the choices are usually chicken or fish.

What is your favourite music?
I like any kind of music ranging from dance to older stuff – a bit of everything really. I always have a CD on in the car and some of them have been made up by Grant Gallagher who does the tunes for the players and is pretty decent at it.

Who is the biggest moaner you have played with?
At Stranraer we have David Mitchell, Stevie Bell and Craig Malcolm who all like a good moan but if you ask them I am sure that they would say it was me! It is good to have so many winners in your team.

Who is your most skilful team-mate?
Grant Gallagher gives us a lot during games with his energy and both Stephen Stirling and Willie Gibson have great ability but I reckon that Stephen just shades it. He nutmegs you for fun in training and could play at any level he wants to.

Who is your worst dressed team-mate?
We have a car full of badly dressed team-mates from Kilmarnock that includes Grant Gallagher, Scott Robertson, Craig Pettigrew and David Mitchell. They share fashion tips on the way to training and they are all rotten tips!

Who is the best trainer?
Scott Rumsby and Jackson Longridge work hard at training and never moan. Nothing is too hard for them and they can see what the manager is looking to produce long before anyone else. They just get on with it and are always in the gym before anyone else.

Who is the best dancer?!
Sean Winter – he likes to throw a few dance moves and he is decent!
