Weekend in numbers

@SPLstats looks at some of the numbers behind the weekend SPFL games

@SPLstats looks at some of the numbers behind the weekend SPFL games:

119 St Mirren defender Jeroen Tesselaar's goal against Ross County on Saturday was his first in 119 appearances in Scottish football. The Dutch defender was making his 51st appearance across two spells at Saints, having also played 68 times for Kilmarnock. Prior to Saturday's game, Tesselaar was the only current outfield player in the top flight who had played over 100 games in Scotland without scoring a goal. Now that Tesselaar has broken his duck, the next player in line is fellow left-back Stephen Hendrie, who has played 97 times for Hamilton Accies in all competitions without scoring a goal – although he did score for Scotland U17s against San Marino in 2011. Many of Hendrie's appearances came in the second tier, and it is one of Tesselaar's St Mirren team-mates who now leads the way for current players in terms of appearances in the Scottish top flight without scoring – Gary Teale has played 83 SPL/Premiership matches without ever finding the net, although he has netted for Saints in both cup competitions.

4 Dundee striker David Clarkson scored in Saturday's 2-0 win over Hamilton Accies to become the first Dundee player to score in four consecutive top-flight matches since Nacho Novo. The Spaniard went on to score in six consecutive SPL games between September and November 2003, finding the net against Aberdeen, Rangers, Hearts, Partick Thistle, Dundee United and Hibernian on his way to finishing as the league's second-top scorer with 19 goals. Clarkson has scored in all four of his appearances for the Dark Blues - his strike on Saturday added to his goals in previous matches against Motherwell, Ross County and Aberdeen.

6 Falkirk's 6-0 win over Cowdenbeath on Saturday was the first time the Bairns had scored six goals in a competitive match at the Falkirk Stadium. It also represented Falkirk's biggest winning margin for a league match since beating Airdrieonians 8-0 at Brockville in March 2000. That match featured goals from Scott Crabbe (2 pens), Davie Nicholls (2), Kevin McAllister, Andy Lawrie, Gareth Hutchison and Ian Morris, with Airdrie reduced to nine men. The Bairns hadn't scored six goals in a league match in over a decade – the last time was a 6-1 win away to Alloa in August 2002.

57 Stranraer's Sean Winter scored the fastest goal of the League 1 season in Saturday's 1-1 draw away to Forfar. Winter found the net after just 57 seconds, beating the previous best of 2:09 when Airdrie's Scott Fraser scored against Brechin a fortnight ago. The draw saw both sides extend their unbeaten runs – Stranraer to six league matches and Forfar to eight.

6 Arbroath's 5-1 win away to Angus rivals Montrose helped them to equal a club record of six consecutive away wins in all competitions. Their run of six games includes all five of their away league matches this season, as well as their 3-1 extra time victory over the Gable Endies in the Scottish Cup. Allan Moore's side have already built up an eight-point lead at the top of League 2, having won nine of their 10 matches this season. Goalkeeper David Crawford even managed to get himself among the scorers on Saturday, becoming the second keeper to net in the SPFL this season after Hibernian's Mark Oxley.
