@splstats takes a closer look at some of the numbers behind the weekend SPFL games.

6 Dundee striker David Clarkson continued his sensational start to his career at Dens Park, with another goal against St Johnstone on Saturday. He has scored in each of his first six appearances for the club, becoming just the second Dundee player ever to do so, the other being Davie McLean in 1922/23 Clarkson also became the first player to score in six consecutive league matches for Dundee since Nacho Novo in 2003.  Since 2010, eight players have managed a six-game scoring streak in the top flight – Kenny Miller, David Goodwillie, Conor Sammon, Anthony Stokes, Niall McGinn, Leigh Griffiths, Michael Higdon and now Clarkson.

10 Inverness CT are second in the Premiership after recording a 4-2 victory over Hamilton Accies at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium to extend their unbeaten home run to 10 matches. Their last home defeat was a 2-1 loss to Motherwell in April. Striker Billy McKay ended his drought in front of goal by netting for the first time since the opening day of the season, also against Hamilton, and for the first time at the Caley Stadium since March. McKay hit a double, the first time he has scored twice in the same game since a 4-3 defeat to Aberdeen in December.

3 Hibernian’s' 2-1 win over Cowdenbeath at Central Park was their third consecutive away win in the Championship. The last time they won three away league matches in a row was when Tony Mowbray was manager - his side won six consecutive away SPL matches between August and November 2005, including their famous 3-0 win at Ibrox when Ivan Sproule scored a hat-trick. The victory also saw Alan Stubbs' side extend their unbeaten league run to six matches, their best undefeated streak since August-September 2012.

8 Stranraer's 3-1 win over Ayr Utd at Stair Park extended their unbeaten league run to eight matches, which is their best run in the third tier since their promotion campaign in 2004/05. In that season, they had two separate long unbeaten runs – a 10-match streak from August-October and then an eight-match run in March and April which helped them seal second place behind champions Brechin City.  Stephen Aitken's side seem to enjoy playing in the autumn - at this stage last season they strung together a run which saw them pick up 31 points from 13 games.

5 Queen's Park's 2-1 win away to League 2 leaders Arbroath was their fifth league victory in a row, and extended their unbeaten run to seven matches. The Spiders last managed five consecutive league wins between December 2011 and January 2012, in a season where they would go on to finish second in the Third Division table. Their latest victory took their points tally to 22 from 11 matches, which is just two points short of their total for the whole of last season.
