Dumbarton striker Bryan Prunty’s overhead kick against Livingston has unsurprisingly been voted as the latest winner of the SFL’s Goal of the Month competition.
Prunty controlled a cross before sending home a scissors kick at Livingston as the Sons won 3-2 and footage of his goal was so widely viewed at the time that the Lions’ website crashed.
Prunty said: “I thought it was in with a good chance of winning because of the excitement that was generated at the time. I scored a similar goal against Stenhousemuir last season that won a Goal of the Month Award but this one was better so I am delighted that it was chosen as the winner.”
The 29-year-old looked to repeat the feat in last Saturday’s 4-1 win over Airdrie United however, he was unsuccessful as he explained: “I tried it again and got a good connection but it hit their player flush on the face. Hopefully, I will have better luck the next time I do it.”
