The Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) is inviting applications from charities to become its Official Charity Partner for this season, 2014/15.
The successful charity will be announced in mid-December as the SPFL’s first ever Official Charity Partner and will benefit from a range of opportunities, including:
- the use of the SPFL logo as the League’s Official Charity Partner for season 2014/15
- advertising boards, LED airtime, tickets and other marketing assets in relation to the semi-finals and finals of the Scottish League Cup
Charitable organisations can apply from today and are being asked to outline how their partnership would see them work with the SPFL’s 42 member clubs, their fans and communities to help generate funds for the charity and raise awareness of its cause.
SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster said: “The SPFL Trust already carries out a huge amount of excellent work in partnership with the 42 professional football clubs in Scotland to create positive opportunities at the heart of their communities. This work brings people together and changes lives for the better.
“Now the SPFL wants to extend its charitable activities by appointing an Official Charity Partner of the League each season. In doing so, we can use the Scottish League Cup to help charities raise funds and generate awareness of their cause to millions of Scottish football fans around the world.”
Applications should be submitted by email to [email protected] or by post to Official Charity Partner Application, SPFL, Hampden Park, Glasgow G42 9DE.
Proposals should be no longer than two A4 pages, and should indicate how the charity would manage the relationship with the SPFL.
The closing date for entries is midday on Friday, 5 December, 2014. The winner will be announced by Friday, 12 December, 2014.
