SPFL Fixtures 2014/15

Scottish Premiership champions Celtic will begin the 2014/15 campaign with a midweek trip to St Johnstone on August 13 after their opening day fixture against Partick Thistle was postponed. The postponement was requested by Glasgow 2014 Ltd and Celtic FC due to Celtic Park’s involvement in the Commonwealth Games.

The postponement was requested by Glasgow 2014 Ltd and Celtic FC due to Celtic Park’s involvement in the Commonwealth Games.

Ronny Deila’s side will unfurl the flag before their Celtic Park meeting with Dundee United on August 16.

Last season’s runners-up Motherwell start at home to St Mirren and Aberdeen, who finished in third place, welcome Dundee United to Pittodrie.

Dundee mark their return to the top flight with a home match against Kilmarnock and fellow promoted side Hamilton Accies take on Inverness Caledonian Thistle at New Douglas Park.

Scottish Cup winners St Johnstone kick off their campaign with a trip to Dingwall to take on Ross County.

The first Dundee derby of the season is scheduled for Dens Park during the weekend of September 20 and the opening Highland derby goes ahead at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium a fortnight later.

League 1 champions Rangers face Robbie Neilson’s Hearts at Ibrox in their Championship opener on the weekend of August 9 while Hibernian, relegated along with their city rivals, start at home to Livingston. Rangers will unfurl the League 1 flag before the Hearts game.

Falkirk, who missed out in the play-offs, travel to Cowdenbeath on day one while Queen of the South, who also made the top four last season, face Alloa at Palmerston and Challenge Cup holders Raith Rovers entertain Dumbarton at Stark’s Park.

Supporters don’t have long to wait for the first Edinburgh derby of 2014/15, with Hearts and Hibernian due to meet at Tynecastle on the weekend of August 16.

Promoted pair Peterhead and Stirling Albion meet at Balmoor on the opening day of the League 1 season. Peterhead will unfurl the League 2 flag before the game.

Dunfermline, runners-up last term, welcome Brechin City to East End Park and relegated Morton travel to Somerset Park to play Ayr United.

Stenhousemuir kick off at home to an Airdrieonians team who finished just below them in 2013/14 and Stranraer, who were third last time out, are up against Forfar at Stair Park.

There’s an opening-day derby match in League 2 as Queen’s Park face Clyde at the Excelsior Stadium.

Relegated Arbroath travel to Berwick Rangers for their first fixture and East Fife, who went down in the play-offs, head for Elgin City.

Albion Rovers play Annan Athletic at Cliftonhill and Montrose kick off against East Stirlingshire at Links Park.
